Transforming Your Smile with Veneers

Over the last few decades, rapidly changing technology has brought numerous oral health innovations to the field of dentistry.  One of these dental innovations that Miro Dental Center frequently uses with patients is called “veneers.”

Veneers are wafer-thin porcelain or ceramic shells designed to look just like your own teeth.  Each veneer is carefully shaped to match the size, shape, and color of your teeth.  They are placed on top of your natural teeth.

At Miro Dental Center, we use strong, stain-resistant, long-lasting veneers for a variety of different applications:

Since we use your natural teeth with veneers, the process for creating veneers is easy and painless.  No oral surgery is involved.  We take a digital impression of your teeth and then create the custom-made veneers in the lab.  Then, we prepare the tooth or teeth by removing a small slice of enamel so that the veneer will lay flat.  Next, we adhere a temporary veneer with a special, removable glue.  Once the permanent veneers are created, we will replace the temporary ones with the permanent veneers, using a special permanent adhesive to bond the veneer.   That’s it!

Over the next few days, you may feel some discomfort or soreness.  Typically, some light pain medication and a cold compress on the tooth will reduce swelling and discomfort.  We recommend you eat soft foods for the first few days following the procedure.

Since veneers look just like your other teeth, people won’t be able to tell what work you had done.  They will only notice your new, beautiful smile.  Furthermore, veneers can stay vibrant for decades if you use brush and floss daily and visit your dentist regularly for checkups.
